Issam Asinga, who recently completed his senior year at Montverde Academy in Florida, reflects on being selected as the Gatorade National Boys Track and Field Player of the Year at the Gatorade Player of the Year Awards Ceremony on July 11 in Los Angeles. Asinga, a Texas A&M signee, was one of six finalists for the Gatorade Best Male Player award, recognition that went to baseball standout Max Clark of Franklin Community High in Indiana.
